The club was founded in 1956, and we have about 25 members. We are always happy to
welcome newcomers; beginners or experienced. Our outdoor venue is at Folly Fields, Wheathampstead; there is no indoor venue. We usually shoot on Saturday afternoons and sometimes at other times too. Established members can use the club's facilities at any time. We have a Junior Section for under-18s. An increasing number of our members are interested in the traditional English longbow, and shoot regularly with that type of bow. We usually run a beginners' course in the summer, and this can lead to menbership of the Grand National Archery Society, the sport's governing body. We hold our Annual End-of-Season Championships in October, and take part in competitions with other clubs. Our annual membership fee is £55 for seniors and £35 for juniors, payable by 1st July. It includes all affiliations, and also membership of the G.N.A.S., the national governing body. |
